Ginger Spice Adult Female in Provo, Utah

My story
Let me brag about Ginger Spice and tell you about all of the amazing things about her and why you should adopt her. First things first, how cute is her face?! Ginger has the cutest little nose crinkle and the most soulful eyes that look into your soul. Not only is she a stunner, she is very loving and affectionate. She loves to cuddle and is looking for someone to love all over her. She shows affection by standing on her hind legs and hugging all over you and she gives the sweetest kisses.

Watch her video here:

Ginger Spice is a black and brindle Lab mix that is approximately 2 years old and currently weighs 46 lbs and is full grown. She is a rescue dog and with any rescue, it’s always a mystery and we cannot guarantee the breed or age. Ginger spice is dog friendly and did great with all of the dogs we introduced her to. She really liked the massive Great Dane who was super goofy and aloof and gentle with her. Ginger does prefer gentle aloof males and would be best placed in a home with a male who is moderately playful that will be mindful and respectful of her space even when she doesn’t want to play. She wasn’t super playful during her assessment, she mainly wandered around the yard exploring and hanging out with her people and watching the other dogs play. We were unable to see how she does with small dogs but we can certainly test that and make it happen! Ginger would love to be in a home with a backyard where she can explore and sniff all the fun smells but we believe that she would also do great in an apartment/condo type of environment as well. She is not super high energy from what we could tell and that can change once in a home but we believe with continued socialization and adequate exercise this girl would be just fine in an apartment/condo. Ginger is a very smart girl and already knows how to sit and she is very treat motivated which will make training a breeze! She will need someone who will continue working with her in regards to leash training because she does pull when she gets excited and when she wants to go smell something yummy but she is easy to correct and very eager to please her handlers. Ginger also did fairly well during our cat test! She was very avoidant of them and would go up sniff them and walk away. We do have lazy resident kitties but this is how she was with them. We do not know if she has ever lived with a cat before and we cannot guarantee that things won’t change once she is in a home. Ginger is believed to be crate trained and potty trained but may need a reminder about where the appropriate potty places are once she is in a home. She is currently in a boarding environment and has a lot of structure and routine implemented in her daily routine and will need time to decompress and adjust. The best way to do this would be to follow our decompression guidelines and maintain a somewhat similar routine that she is already familiar with. We are willing to test Ginger Spice with anything you need us to in order to ensure it’s the perfect match for you! We can make anything happen! Just let us know.

Why adopt from Three Little Pitties?

The stray and animal overpopulation in the Greater Houston area is the highest in the nation. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone. Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no other option but to euthanize animals for space. This dog you’ve found online is lucky to be in our program, and even luckier to have you notice it!

Three Little Pitties wants to set you and your new pet up for success! We know our dogs and we work hard to prepare them socially for adoption. We are a network of dedicated people who are heavily invested in seeing our animals thrive. From the moment they are accepted into our program, our Intake, Behavior & Medical teams prepare them for adoption by properly vetting, behaviorally assessing, and providing customized plans depending on the dog’s needs. We provide weekly socialization programs for our dogs through playgroups and group leash training classes available to all dogs in our adoption program, and Doggy Sleepover, Doggy Day Out, and Ambassador programs for our boarding dogs. There is a professional dog trainer on staff to provide support for our fosters and dogs, and an off-site dog trainer for dogs that need more extensive behavior modification. This helps us learn deeply about every dog, prepare them for adoption, and ultimately match them with loving families. We seek to adopt to families who understand that these are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts, but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be!

It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these special perks:

• 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion (must register within 24 hours of first vet appt.)
• A free private online dog training session with GoodPup plus low pricing for future sessions (approx $25 weekly for an 8 week course of one session per week)
• One free bonus toy in every BarkBox when signing up for their Super Chewer subscription plan
• 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a PNW based, organic fresh dog food loaf meal subscription plan
• Coupons for a fun visit to Petco

• Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup!

We celebrated our 5 year anniversary this year! Through the combined efforts of all of our hardworking staff and volunteers, we have placed over 12,000 very lucky dogs and cats into amazing homes! By adopting from us, you save TWO lives! The pet you adopt, and you create an opportunity for another animal to be saved in that spot. Together, we can be heroes.
