Baby Spice Labrador Retriever Adult Female in Provo, Utah

My story
Baby Spice is the sweetest little thing you ever did meet! Not only is she a black dog which I'm a sucker for but she is cuddly and oh so loving!! She is the type of dog that wants to be in your lap snuggling with you on the couch during a cold winter day or even movie night. She loves affection and wants to please her people. If you adopt Baby Spice, you won’t have to ask or worry about whether or not she likes to cuddle or if she is affectionate. Snuggles run through this girls veins.

Watch her video here:

Baby Spice is a black lab mix approximately 1 year old and currently weighs 52 lbs and she is absolutely stunning! She is a rescue dog and with any rescue, it’s always a mystery and we cannot guarantee the breed or age. Baby even still looks like a baby and still have the cute extra puppy skin which I find to be the cutest thing about her. She is very dog friendly and did great with all of the dogs we introduced her to. She is a little shy at first and kept to herself mostly just hanging around her people. Almost like she was the new kid at school. It was actually pretty sweet. She will need time to open up and feel 100% comfortable in a home but she has so much potential. She just needs a little confidence boost. Baby Spice would be best placed in a home with other moderately playful dogs that have a more gentle play style and ones that will help build her confidence. She is a little princess and likes to be treated like one and doesn’t like to play all rough and rowdy. She also would do great with super large dogs like great danes and actually opened up a lot more when she met one.

Baby also did really good during our cat test! We don’t know if she has ever lived with a cat before and things can change once in a home environment but she was very avoidant of our resident kitties and did not want to go near them. With proper and slow introductions, we believe that Baby could co-exist with kitty friends. We believe Baby would do great in a home with a backyard or even an apartment/condo living environment with adequate exercise and continued socialization. She is medium energy and a simple walk around the neighborhood or leisurely hike would be just fine for this girl. She is very treat motivated which will make continued training a breeze and she already walks well on a leash and knows how to sit! How smart is she?! To our knowledge she is crate trained and potty trained but may need a reminder about where the appropriate potty places are once she arrives at her new home. We are willing to test Baby Spice with anything you need us to in order to ensure it’s the perfect match for you! We can make anything happen! Just let us know!

Why adopt from Three Little Pitties?

The stray and animal overpopulation in the Greater Houston area is the highest in the nation. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone. Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no other option but to euthanize animals for space. This dog you’ve found online is lucky to be in our program, and even luckier to have you notice it!

Three Little Pitties wants to set you and your new pet up for success! We know our dogs and we work hard to prepare them socially for adoption. We are a network of dedicated people who are heavily invested in seeing our animals thrive. From the moment they are accepted into our program, our Intake, Behavior & Medical teams prepare them for adoption by properly vetting, behaviorally assessing, and providing customized plans depending on the dog’s needs. We provide weekly socialization programs for our dogs through playgroups and group leash training classes available to all dogs in our adoption program, and Doggy Sleepover, Doggy Day Out, and Ambassador programs for our boarding dogs. There is a professional dog trainer on staff to provide support for our fosters and dogs, and an off-site dog trainer for dogs that need more extensive behavior modification. This helps us learn deeply about every dog, prepare them for adoption, and ultimately match them with loving families. We seek to adopt to families who understand that these are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts, but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be!

It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these special perks:

• 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion (must register within 24 hours of first vet appt.)
• A free private online dog training session with GoodPup plus low pricing for future sessions (approx $25 weekly for an 8 week course of one session per week)
• One free bonus toy in every BarkBox when signing up for their Super Chewer subscription plan
• 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a PNW based, organic fresh dog food loaf meal subscription plan
• Coupons for a fun visit to Petco

• Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup!

We celebrated our 5 year anniversary this year! Through the combined efforts of all of our hardworking staff and volunteers, we have placed over 12,000 very lucky dogs and cats into amazing homes! By adopting from us, you save TWO lives! The pet you adopt, and you create an opportunity for another animal to be saved in that spot. Together, we can be heroes.
