We love our piano and are sad to part with it, but we're moving across the country, and it's not coming with us.
It is an older piano, an upright Aeolian--the sort you might expect to hear ragtime music being played on. It is painted black, and the paint is chipped away in a few spots that are most visible in a few places above the keyboard. Probably not too hard to touch up--although if we were keeping the piano longer, we would probably strip off the black paint and refinish it with some kind of a wood varnish instead.
As for the sound, I am partial to uprights so I'm a little biased, but I love the rich, full sound it produces. We haven't had it tuned since our last move, and you can start to sense that in the octaves and flat keys a little. You'll definitely want to have it tuned after you move (although the pros say to wait a month or two for things to settle first).
The bench (which is included) is not as old as the piano itself, I'm pretty sure, but it's also black. It has some room to store music, but the bottom is particleboard so you don't want to put anything too heavy inside without reinforcing it first.
If this is the piano for you (or someone you know) please call Dave at . Thanks!
